- 03The Conference is most concerned with LIFE THREATENING Food Allergies The Nauvoo MEGA Conference welcomes all attendees and will make reasonable efforts to help individuals with life-threatening food allergies participate safely. However, due to the nature of large-group food service and volunteer food preparation, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. What We Can Do Provide ingredient information for conference-provided meals whenever available. Identify common allergens when known. Work with our food service team to communicate reported life-threatening allergies. Allow attendees to bring their own food, snacks, medications, or allergy-safe meal replacements as needed. Provide a Vegetarian and Gluten Free option at every meal. What We Cannot Guarantee We cannot guarantee that meals, serving areas, dining facilities, or food preparation areas are free from cross-contact with allergens. Food may be prepared, transported, or served in facilities that handle common allergens, including but not limited to peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, and shellfish. Some meals or food items may be prepared by third-party vendors, restaurants, hotels, or volunteers whose preparation methods are outside our direct control. Attendee Responsibility If you have a life-threatening food allergy, we strongly encourage you to: Indicate your allergy during registration. Contact us before the conference to discuss your needs. Bring any necessary medications, including epinephrine auto-injectors (EpiPens). Carry emergency medications with you at all times. Carefully review ingredient information before consuming any food. Consider bringing supplemental meals or snacks that meet your dietary needs. Emergency Preparedness Conference staff and volunteers are not medical professionals. In the event of a severe allergic reaction, emergency medical services will be contacted immediately. Attendees remain responsible for managing their own medical conditions and emergency treatment plans. Questions? If you have a life-threatening food allergy and would like to discuss accommodations before registering, please contact us. We will do our best to help you determine whether the conference environment will meet your needs. Important: The safety of our attendees is important to us. Because we cannot control every aspect of food preparation and service, individuals with life-threatening allergies should carefully assess their personal risk before attending and make appropriate preparations.
