John Bytheway

Get ready to laugh, learn, and leave inspired with John Bytheway! Raised in Salt Lake City and shaped by his mission in the Philippines, John has spent years helping people connect with the gospel through humor, storytelling, and powerful insight. He earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from BYU and now teaches Book of Mormon and New Testament courses at the BYU Salt Lake Center.
A beloved speaker and the author of dozens of books and audio programs, John jokingly describes his work as “effective non-prescription sleep aids” — though audiences everywhere would strongly disagree. Known for his relatable style and unforgettable one-liners, he has a gift for making people laugh while bringing them closer to Christ.
John and his wife, Kimberly, are the parents of six children and owners of a very full SUV that apparently doubles in value whenever the gas tank is full. When he’s not speaking or writing, you’ll likely find him teaching Sunday School alongside Kimberly to a lively group of 12–13 year-olds — proof that his sense of humor and patience are both still going strong.
